Has anyone ever stayed here? How did you like it? Thanks.
I've stayed at the Adler Cavalieri which was very nice.
According to Tripadvisor, Hotel Caravaggio is actually rated higher.
Kathy,
We stayed at the Hotel Caravaggio in Oct 2004. It is about a 10 minute or so walk from the train station. Mapquest the directions as the road curves and can be confusing.
Staff was very helpful, they booked our museum tickets in advance for us. Hotel was located within a 10-15 minute walking distance of the Duomo. The market was just down the street. Our room was extremely large. It was a triple, although we only needed a double. My only complaint was our room faced an interior open shaft (is the only nice way to put it). It let light in, but the smell was horrible. Just ask for an outside room and that will take care of that problem.
I would recommend this hotel. I had a hard time finding a room in Florence, that was both affordable and decent. This hotel was a good match. Also try Tripadvisor.com. Some people post pictures and you can get a idea of what the rooms/hotel looks like.
