Hotel booked for last night of tour

I will be doing the Best of Venice, Florence, and Rome tour and will need to stay an additional night in Rome, to make my flight out the day after the tour.

It looks like I need to reserve an additional room the final night of the tour, however, it looks like Hotel San Carlo (the hotel the tour has me at in Rome) has no availability for that night. Can someone confirm that the tour does not include a hotel room on the final day?

If that is the case, can someone recommend a decent cheaper hotel to stay at in lieu of Hotel San Carlo on that final night?

What's cheap? I like Hotel Fori Imperiali dei Cavalieri, near the forum and Colosseum.

Have you emailed the hotel directly?

I did this on another RS tour for an additional day on the front end. It was showing booked on the hotel's booking site but they were able to reserve a room for me.

Mention that you are on a RS tour as well.

Yep, I email them, and they confirmed that they have no room available.

I just returned from the marvelous VFR tour! The last night of the tour hotel stay is the night of the farewell dinner.
I would ask the hotel to be put on a wait list. I arrived early in Venice and was given the RS rate for the extra nights, which was significantly lower.

Rick also uses hotel aberdeen for some tours. Near train station and usually reasonable with nice. Breakfast.

Concur with Dan regarding Hotel Aberdeen, nice breakfast and staff. Stayed there as part of an RS tour and 2 additional nights afterwards.
