Any recommendations for a 4-5 night stay in the Trastevere for around 80-140 Euros per night? We've been averaging around 80 euros per night elsewhere in Italy, Venice excluded, but expect Rome to be a bit more expensive. Thanks so much.

Elle, One Hotel you might have a look at is Casa San Guiseppe. It's in a great location and the staff are wonderful. Happy travels!

Most of the places Rick recommends are fully booked. The rates seem to triple on October 8/9 (staying October 6-10). Is there some religious festival, sporting event etc. that I am unaware of? On a positive note, I have booked hotels/b&bs for the rest of my itinerary!

The rates triple?? That's not possible. Did you find that at more than one website? Really weird.
