Please suggest a hotel near Florence airport - have early flight and car to drop off. I know question has been asked before, but can't seem to link into the answers.

Wherever you stay in Florence you are only 15-20 min to the airport that early in the morn.
I would return the rental car the day before when you arrive and take a taxi in the morning, especially because I don't think the rental places open that early, even at the airport.
The taxi ride from the city center is about 15 min early in the morning. The fare is fixed at 20 euro, to which you need to add 1euro per suitcase and the night surcharge of about 4 euro before 7am. So you'll save a day of rental (at least 45 euro), in exchange for a stress free taxi ride and about 25 euro.
I have never paid more than 28 euro, luggage and night charge included. If you really insist there are. Several hotels near the airport, including a Holiday Express next to the new huge Courthouse, but the area is really boring and ugly.

I agree completely with Roberto. Drop the car as soon as you arrive in Florence (be careful not to go through any ZTL areas) and then take a Taxi to the airport. It's very close to town and only a short drive. With an early flight, I'd suggest asking your hotel to pre-book the Taxi at least the day prior to travel.
