Hotel Alimandi Vaticano or..?

We're going to Rome for 5 days. Has anyone stayed at this hotel? I've found their other hotel (Hotel Alimandi Tunisi) reviewed here, but not the Vaticano.

This is the first time I'll be in Rome - but my future husband has been there several times. He's used to staying in the Vatican area, but we are open to other areas. The other area that sounded interesting (based on the information in "Rome 2010") is in the Pantheon neighborhood - but we will be on our honeymoon and don't want to stay in a convent this trip :-)

If you have a recommendation of an Alimandi Vaticano like-hotel in either location, please tell us about it!

Thank you!

Hi V.

Hopefully someone who has stayed there will be able to give you a better idea but I think based on my stay at the Alimandi Tunisi that if you are looking for a high quality experience, you would enjoy either the Alimandi Vaticano or Tunisi. The Tunisi is their 3-star hotel and I thought it was quite upscale from what I am used to. The staff is extremely nice and the breakfast excellent. Their shuttle driver agreed to take us to the airport on a holiday for nothing more than tips. There were a few ladies on the shuttle who had stayed at the Vaticano and I didn't get to talk to them but they seemed pleased with their stay.

Thank you so much for your reply. It looks as if the Vaticano is less known - at least judging from the responses. It's good to know how their sister hotel was, though. Thanks again!
