Hotel Al Santo vs. B&B Al Santo in Padova -- Opinions Please?

Hello,
We'll be staying in Padova for perhaps three or four nights in March 2020. Seeing Padova and also hoping to train into Venice one day. I won't have a car.

I see recommendations for both HOTEL AL SANTO and B&B AL SANTO in Padova. Hotel seems right in the heart of the Old Town, B&B is about 1/3-1/2 mile away. But the B&B looks "more charming".

Given that we won't have a car and will want to visit the town at least twice/day; also given that we like more charming B&B's, any opinion on which is better location and which is better property? And does that Tram we see advertised run by both? Has anyone stayed at them lately?

Thanks so much in advance.

No question the Hotel al Santo; right downtown, a high rating of 8.7 on booking.com.

We loved the Hotel Al Santo. The tram stops just about half a block away. The staff is wonderful, the breakfast is good. Our room was fine - small but clean.

I don't speak "charming," so I'm not sure what you mean.

There's also an affiliated restaurant right net door with good pizza and house wine. We stayed at the Al Santo for a few days before a RS tour, then switched to the tour hotel. When we walked past a couple of days later, the restaurant and hotel staff treated us like long lost family. Impressed the hell out of our new tour mates.

It's an easy walk to the main piazza and historic sights.

If we ever get back to Padua, that's where we're staying.
