Bob,

I choose most of my hotels based on TA reviews and am generally quite pleased. I actually tried to book Gea di Vulcano the last two times that I was in Rome and both times they were fully booked. I have no first hand knowledge of this hotel, but the location on via Nationale would be quite convenient as a number of busses run down this street and it is a short walk from the train station

Adler was very convenient to train and metro. Loved the service and big breakfast on the terrace. Room was smaller than others but still had a bathroom, airconditioning, tv, very comfortable bed, fridge, and no charge for full computer use in the entry(something I found to be a rare luxury. Felt very safe there. I believe they have different size/quality of rooms also. Was tricky to find the entrance as it was around the corner from the front of the building. We discovered it was like many hotels in that all that tells you there is a hotel in the large building is a plaque next to the doorway. Would stay there again.
