We have an unexpected wrinkle in our itinerary which necessitates an overnight stay in Naples. We are deciding between these two hotels: Decumani Hotel de Charme OR Palazzo Alabardieri. Can anyone provide information on these two beautiful places...as in one might be in a safer, better area than another? Thank you!
Palazzo Alabardieri is in the bestest and safest area possible (Chiaia), near Piazza Plebiscito.
Decumani is closer to San Severo and to the Archeological museum (as well as to the ferries). It’s also a bit closer to the airport (but not by much).
So it really depends on what your plans are.
We had these two hotels on our list and chose Palazzo Alabardieri due to its location and strong reviews. We walked around the lively waterfront
neighborhood of Chiaia every hour of the day and night. always felt safe. It is down a very quiet street so no views. But it is totally safe , nice rooms, wonderful breakfasts!

Santa Lucia is also a nice neighborhood
