Alan,
We stayed there this last Sept., and it was a great little boutique hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, and the location was very convenient. It is a very short walk from the train station.
Have a great trip!

Stayed there this past December with the RS 7 Day tour. Great, comfortable place.
Liked the location, the size of the rooms (think I was in 19), friendly and knowledgeable staff. To be perfectly honest was much better than I'd ever anticipated. Enjoy Florence. MANY things to see and sites to explore. PM me if you need recommends for restaurants, pubs, etc.

Stayed there last year in a single room. Not good! I think it had really been on larger room and they had put a wall up the middle to get two rooms. There was no soundproofing at all. I could literally hear everything from the couple in the room next door. Bathroom was tiny. However I was with another couple and their room was much bigger - really quite large by European standards.

The location is good and if you venture up away from the city centre you can find some good local restaurants. Staff were very accommodating. Close to all the major sights. I'd go back.

I also stayed there in December on the VFR tour (which ended right before the 7 day tour referenced above). I shared a room with another tour member and we had 4 twin beds in our room and still had a vast amount of space of any other I've stayed in. The bathroom was narrow but not a problem for either of us. There is a place a couple of doors down where you can get a nice glass a wine and it's literally around the corner from the Medici Chapel. Great location with easy walking to the major sites.
