I would like to know how accessible the area is- I am travelling with a young child and adults who have difficulty walking long distances. Also how close is it to the so-called "seedy" area around the Termini?
My wife and I go to Roma almost every year and since discovering the Aberdeen would not stay anywhere else. The young ladies who own and run the hotel are sweet, accomodating, intelligent and great host. They know Roma and try to share that knowledge with you. The hotel is about 6 blocks away from Termini (straight down Giolitti to Piazza
Republica and left about 3 blocks. We have gone to Italy for years and know it very well. Since one is limited in how long you can write on the Graffiti wall, if I can help further, please email. The seedy section around Termini is not near the hotel which is across the street from the Ministry of Defense and is VERY safe and not at all seedy. There are many useful restrurants (including 2 McDonalds) nearby as well as news-stands, delis, pharmacies, ATM's, shops, Bus stop, Metro (subway), and taxis. My email is [email protected]
We have stayed in the area nearby the Aberdeen. I think that you will find it safe and central to many locations in Rome. In particular, it is near to Villa Borghese, our favorite place to visit.
Charles Luther is a very experienced traveler. From personal experience I can tell you that he is also very helpful. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to take advantage of his offer of assistance.
