My family and I are looking to book a hotel in Venice for the two nights prior to our Rick Steves tour beginning. When I contacted the hotel that we’ll be staying at for the Rick Steve’s tour their price for two nights was €1,000. I think the reason it is so high is because they don’t have a triple room available so we would have to book 2 rooms, one single and one double. I don’t know if this is the average price for a hotel in Venice near San Marcos Square in September but if anyone has any suggestions for other hotels around this one, I’d appreciate it. Here is the address for Hotel Ala that we will be staying at for the Rick Steves tour:
Campo Santa Maria del Giglio
San Marco 2494
Hotel Flora is in the same little campo as Ala and gets good reviews here.
Triple room may be hard to find
$1000 for 2 rooms/2 nights is pretty standard in Venice- that’s $250 a night.
I’d start looking on booking .Com
Use the filters and narrow your search for triple rooms
Thank you.
Using booking. Com to filter for triple rooms is a good idea. Then go to the hotel webdsite to book.
We stay at the Horel Ai Mori D'Oriente in the Cannaregio area of Venice. It would give you a great experience in the contrasts of Venice, because the Cannaregio area is on the quiet back canals, where you can take a sunset pix without other folks spoiling your pix. Book directly for the best price , great staff and service, has a canal dock.
Also is only a ten minute walk to a vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal.
Have a great trip.
Unfortunately the lowest price I can see for that hotel in September for a triple room is a suite for €1069 for 2 nights. That is the refundable rate, without breakfast.
I hope the booking.com search works out for you.
If you’re trying to save money, Instituto San Guiseppe has triple rooms. It is a monastery. According to monastery stays.com. triple room is €162.50/night. Contact the monastery for availability https://sangiuseppecaburlotto.it/ospitalita/casa-istituto-san-giuseppe-venezia/ I book monastery stays directly with the monastery and have gotten better cancellation terms and in one case a better extended stay price.
According to Google maps it’s about a 15 minute walk to your tour hotel. Or shorter walks + vaporetto ride. Do you know about vaporetto passes?
I looked at the hotel I mentioned above and the site asked for the age of the third family member, which of course I don't know, but it seems their suites can handle three guests, for a little under the price you named.
Good luck!
Thank you!
Pat, I looked at Ai Mori d’Oriente in September on the least expensive dates, and the price for a triple room for 2 nights was only under €1000 on a non-refundable rate.
Booking.com does list other hotels for less; Hotel Casanova is one but I don’t know anyone who has stayed there.
check monasterystays.com. Most places have triples. I can recommend Istituto San Guiseppe which is located on a small canal midway between Rialto and San Marco
