Hot Air Balloon Rides over Tuscany

Last year I used "Ballooning in Tuscany". We had a very wonderful experience. I believe we had to arrive at about 5:30 am. to be ready for departure from the small town of Montisi. We were about 15 minutes late and they were just starting to inflate balloon. So do not panic if you are slightly off in timing. We stay in Montepulciano so it is pretty convenient. Pienza is very nearby also. It is a side road off to the right when traveling the path from Montepulciano to Pienza. It is possible, if the weather is not exactly right, that your ride will be cancelled and rescheduled. They will eventually refund you if the rescheduling does not work for you. If you miss your flight without prior notification there is no refund.

I believe we were up for about an hour and it was quite beautiful to have such a unique perspective of the Tuscan landscape. This was at the end of May and it was quite chilly so be prepared if it is similar timing.

The very friendly couple who speak English perfectly place a small sign on the way to Montisi on the roadside the same day as your excursion marking the place of departure which is the right side of road into a sort of open field.

I believe the cost was about $300.00 per person. It is not inexpensive but I think worth a one time special experience.

Thanks! I remember the company from all the searching i've been doing - & irrespective of the company, the sheer cost is deterring but for which I'm sure it must be fantastic to get a birds-eye-view of the Tuscan region from up in the air!!
