What are the best hostels in Naples and the Cinque Terre?

Lauren, That's a difficult question to answer without having some idea on your criteria for Hotels. Also, which is "best" is sometimes a matter of opinion. You might find it very helpful to check the Italy Guidebook, as there are MANY listings there for Hotels in different price ranges. That would be the easiest and best way to find a Hotel that fits your criteria. Without more specific information, that's all I can offer.....

The CT area doesn't have a proper hostel, but an off season room, mid week is about 60-70E.

To my knowledge the only hostel in the Cinque Terre is the one in Manarola http://www.hostel5terre.com/ I stayed there once and found it to be outstanding. Its a bit of a climb up there from the train but the view makes it worthwhile. A handy spot to do laundry and the meals served were quite good when I stayed there.

Thank yall tons for the quick responses! Anyone with suggestions in Naples I'd love to hear them. I'm looking for something with a good location, safe, and internet is NOT crucial but definitely helpful. Any more suggestions for the Cinque Terre please send them along! Additionally, if there are any "must do's" in either of these locations; restaurants, a certain area or activity, etc. Let me know!

Lauren, Here's a few more suggestions for you.... > Cinque Terre - there's one Hostel in Manarola as previously mentioned. It's clean and well run, but note that they have a strict Lockout for several hours in the afternoon. There's also a Hostel in Corniglia which has only been in operation for a year or so. You might also consider private rooms, such as Mar-Mar Rooms in Riomaggiore (they also operate somewhat of a "mini-Hostel"). > Naples - I usually stay in HI Hostels but haven't stayed in the Naples properties yet. Have a look at This Website for details. It may be an advantage to obtain an inexpensive HI membership, as that provides preferred booking and rates. Cheers!
