This may be a long shot, but thought I'd ask it anyway. We are last minute joiners for the Alpine My Way tour beginning September 25th. This is our second RS tour. Has anyone gone horseback riding in the Alpe de Siusi stop in The Dolomites? I would love to do this! Any recommendations? Hubs is content with hiking and doesn't care for horses. I am comfortable hiring a guide and going out on my own and am pretty much beside myself with excitement. Thanks. Liz
I haven't done it, but I have seen people riding there, on the beautiful Tyrolean horses ( Haflingers). Also have seen the mares and foals turned out for the summer up by Bolzanohütte---very friendly horses that wanted to say hello to hikers.
Google found this:

The actual website of the riding stable is only in German and Italian:

Hi Liz. To add to Lola's good info... We were there last month and on our hike in Alpe de Suisi we say horses roaming free on the path, also people riding on horses out of Saltria. Check out the place Lola mentions, although from the website, it looks like it might be down in the valley, not up on the Alpe? Might want to check / compare Saltria option also, probably thru Saltria hotel? Perhaps there are other options also - at least you now have a couple to check. Enjoy your trip!
Hotel Saltria offers horseback riding.
EDIT: It seems the link only leads you to booking rooms. Do contact them, though. for info. I have found them to be very responsive and I like staying there.
Halflingers are great ponies! Can be strong, but very steady. Basically the horse version of a goldern retriever. Have a good ride!
