Hoping to wake up to bells ringing -- my cherished dream

Will I be able to wake up to bells ringing if I stay at Pensione Guarrato in Venice, Hotel Silla in Florence, and Hotel Sonya in Rome?? It's one of my cherished dreams.
Thanks!

There are no bells near Hotel Sonya in Rome. Most people are unhappy with ring bells waking them up so hotels try their best to muffle the sound.

Thanks, Frank. Do you know if I will wake up to bells in Pensione Guarrato and Hotel Silla?

Ruth, I know what you mean. When we were in Venice, we stayed in Castello near the site of the Biennial. I could hear the bells ringing in the morning and it was wonderful. Sorry but I can't answer your question because I don't know where these two hotels are located.

Definitely not at the Sonya. For the other two, go to Google Earth, type in the street addresses, and look for bell towers near the hotel. No guarantee you'll be able to hear them even if they are nearby.

I don't remember bells at Pensione Guerrato, but then I wasn't listening for them. I would suggest emailing those properties and asking.

Ruth, That is not as wonderful as you might think. In some places they begin ringing at 4:30 a.m. and do so every 15 minutes. In some smaller Italian towns you can even wake up to roosters crowing very early in the morning. That is not so wonderful, either. Buon viaggio,

I would suggest staying at convent lodging in Rome or Venice. In particular in Venice we stayed the Don orizone convent. It is a beautiful old building across from a church.. google Saint Susanna, the American Catholic Church in Rome, then "coming to Rome" and they will list convent lodging. While simple, the lodging is clean, safe and affordable, and will give you the religious ambience you might like. However, you do not need to be Catholic to stay there, just respect their curfews and quiet hours.
