Having the devil's own time learning anything about the hop-on, hop-off busses in this region. Would love some advice on whether this is a viable way to go from Sorrento to the Amalfi towns. Appreciate any help in this regard!
I don't think there is a true hoho bus option along the coast. I could be wrong but sure can't find anything.
Pretty sure it doesn’t exist anymore
There was one a few years ago but it wasn’t a true hop on hop off. It only traveled around Sorrento-not to the coastal towns
We did take a Red City Sightseeing bus from Amalfi to Ravello in 2019 but I don’t think that exists anymore either
I see Viator lists one but says “not bookable”
Google has an entry for “City Sightseeing bus Sorrento” but indicates it is TEMPORARILY CLOSED. ( that could mean seasonal)
Here is the bus company website, you can try contacting them

The Sorrento page on their site says

Here is the Sita bus schedule for Sorrento to the Amalfi coast.
More routes are available by using the drop down arrow and hitting go.
Other alternative is to use the ferry which will save time over the bus.
Thank you very much, folks - your comments are most helpful!
I believe City Sightseeing (the company link Christine provided) used to operate the "Coast to Coast" sightseeing bus between Sorrento and Amalfi but AFAIK it hasn't been in service since before COVID, and wasn't really a hoho.
Funny, if you click on "Our destinations" on the City Sightseeing website, "Sorrento and Amalfi Coast" doesn't come up at all. Who knows, they could start the service up again now that we're beyond the COVID shutdown years but it's a wait-and-see?
Yes, good point, Kathy. It's worth checking as the bigger travel season gets closer. Thanks.
The Amalfi Coast has limits on the size of busses. The road system is tight with lots of traffic.
I don't think there is a HoHo bus for Amalfi, but if there was one, I wouldn't recommend it.
