Looking for some advice for our honeymoon in Italy in May! We got married in January and were surprised and happy to find out that I was pregnant just a few weeks later! While we are excited, we definitely didn't expect that I would be pregnant on our delayed honeymoon. We are spending the first week at a resort in Crete and then fly into Rome. From there, we don't have any firm plans. I definitely want to spend at least two days in Rome, but we have the rest of the week open. Would love any suggestions on where to go and what to do! Originally we wanted to drive around Tuscany and visit wineries, but wine drinking is off the table for now. Thank you!
Congratulations!
You could spend some time in Firenze and/or Venezia, or if you prefer something smaller, a couple of nights in Orvieto or Siena? Do you want beach time?
I think we may have enough beach time already because we are spending the entire first week of our trip beachside. I have been to Venice so I think we want to skip that this time. I have never been to Florence but wondering if trying to do two big cities could feel like too much instead of doing Rome + small towns.
Florence is very compact & walkable, esp if you get a hotel within the city center. Lots of opportunities to sit & put yr feet up & eat gelato
If you want to continue the romance then plan on taking the high speed train to Venice after you have a nice evening hanging out at Piazza Navona in Rome. In fact have dinner there.
Congratuations on your three accomplisments, marriage, motherhood, and a trip to the most fantastic country inthe world
