I want to take my fiancé to Italy, she's never been, I've been to Rome, Florence, Venice. We have about 14 days, that doesn't include losing a day flying. We want to go to Spain to relax on a beautiful beach towards the end of our trip, but in the beginning, we want to go to Italy.... I want to take her to Venice, Rome, Amalfi Coast...is this possible in 8-9 days without doing too much...it is still our Honeymoon?
Congratulations! Pick no more than two places for 8-9 days. As you say, it is your honeymoon, after all. :-) Personally, I'd do Venice and Rome since you are hitting the beach in Spain.
Bryan, I'd also like to offer congratulations. With only 8-9 days, my suggestion would be to focus on Venice and Rome, with perhaps a night or two in Tuscany (Siena?). You mentioned that part of your criteria is not doing too much, so it's best to keep the travel times to a minimum. With such a short time frame, I doubt that you'll have time for the Amalfi Coast. Happy travels!
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I've been to both Spain and Italy a number of times, and having visited Florida (second home) it was absolutely shocking to me that the beaches in the South of Spain are very pebbly and the water is icey cold! In August! So, with that in mind, if you enjoy just the sunbathing, that is fun, and in Nerja they have great Paella on the beaches.......and of course Sangria! If you're looking for nice sand and warmer water, there are beaches on the Adriatic side of Italy in Rimini, Riccione, Catolica The Italians love vacationing there, and are Soooooo proud of their
sand, fine, no pebbles, and maybe more of what you're expecting. I found the same thing when traveling to Sicily in August -- the Med is incredibly COLD -- Again in August -- and very pebbly/rocky beaches. All of those years of dreaming of swimming in the Med......only to find it heart-stopping cold. Have a great wedding, honeymoon and marriage! I just wanted to give you a heads-up re the Med!
