Hello - we would like a honeymoon full of the Italian La Dolce Vita, with the sea, restaurants, night life, rest and relaxation at the end of July, beginning of August and have £5,000 only. We are happy to go outside the touristy areas and would like the west coast of Italy, ideally around Portofino, but are flexible and welcome suggestions. Perhaps a mix of hotels and apartments? We would like a little bit of old school luxury but the rest of the time an apartment in a great location would work. We'd prefer 10-14 days. Any recommendations?

If you have a budget, Portofino is not the best choice. But there are two lovely villages on either side of it--Camogli and Santa Margarita Ligure, that are nice alternatives. I am also fond of the area around Lerici.
If you are not counting airfare, that is a decent budget for 10 days, two weeks with care, but summer is high season and things will cost more.
