In September my husband and I will be in Naples for a couple of days and have 1 day to squeeze in a Vesuvius and Herculaneum day tour. I've read that Mondo tours has good rates for RS readers but I don't see this particular option offered.

Sorry, Carol, Mondo doesn't offer that one as a shared tour. Only the 6 tours shown on the "Shared Tours Mondo Guide for Rick Steves" page are available.
I think a lot of folks just do these two attractions on their own but maybe someone can recommend a tour operator they used.
