Home base while visiting Sorrento area

You can reach all the other places as daytrips from Sorrento. Stay in Sorrento at least 4 days. Positano is on the Amalfi coast, so that is one trip.
Sorrento is a great city for walking and lodging. The views of the ocean are terrific, too.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel in Sorrento to use as a home base while making day trips?

You are going to one of may favorite areas in Europe. I stay min 5 days, more in better as ea is a blockbuster!
So one day per location you mentioned also incl Ravello very close to Amalfi town. have fun.

We home-based in Sorrento two month ago for a week and can`t say enough good things. For a great central location I would recommend Hotel Sorrento City.Its location is unbeatable-two blocks to train and bus station which we used to day trip to Pompei and Amalfi, and close to marina which we used to day trip to Capri and Naples

Sorrento is beautiful and fun and a great place to come back to each day.

Randy, someone else recommended il nido www.ilnido.it from another post for really nice views in sorrento. I have not been there yet, but i think thats where i am going to book for next spring.
