We will be in tuscany late june and plan to use Siena as a home base. I would welcome any advice on lodging in or around the city. I have reviewed RS options in his book but looking for additional options....An agritourismo would be worth a try but need help on finding one with good recommendations.

This past October we spent five nights in Siena staying at the Hotel Athena. it is a four star property, extremely clean, the staff was very helpful, and it's located about a ten minute walk to the Duomo or Piazza Del Campo. We originally planned to make day trips from Siena, but once we were there we just kicked back and spent all of our time in Siena.

We are staying in Siena in a 3 bedroom 2 bath apartment in April that is in the city center and close to the only free parking area. They have 33 reviews that are all 5-star. They have been easy to work with and helpful in our email communications. Here is the link:

We have stayed three times at Albergo Bernini in Siena. Great location, close to bus stop and St. Catherines church. I don't like staying outside of the city...I like being in the center of things. Siena is one of my favorite cities in Italy. Enjoy!
