Home!!

Hello everyone,

I am home! We had an amazing trip! Nothing that I imagined would happen even remotely occurred. Love the Lido area and Venice, and Florence was amazing. Enjoyed Rome...but liked the other two areas more.

The visit to my Great Grandparents village was a highlight....we were treated like family by the Mayor and local Priest. We ate in a small trattoria and had the most amazing meal. They took us around the village for four hours and made us feel so welcome. More than we could have ever imagined.

So even after an insane travel home ( delayed and cancelled flights for over twenty fours between JFK and Laguardia, and ended up driving 8 hours home) it was a perfect trip!

Thank you once again to everyone that helped ease my anxiety before I left.

Hugs!!!

Thanks from me as well for your thoughtful report!

See? There was nothing at all to be frightened of, right? :O)
How did Dad do? Managed well with a rest-up here and there?

Dad did amazing. He rested as much as he could or as much as I nagged him too. He is tired today mostly from horrible travel home. We had nice weather and although it was warm we stepped into the shade and it was much better. We even found a few spots where there was a steady breeze and just chilled there for a bit. His biggest issue was on a day in Florence when he got stuck in an elevator at a leather store. He was in there for fifteen minutes or more. Needless to say that was not exciting. After that I didn't mention the elevators to him. ๐Ÿ˜

Welcome home! I am so glad everything went smoothly and Dad loved the trip. Will you write a trip report? I am leaving tomorrow with my husband , flying to Rome. My second trip, his first.
