Holy Week with Teen Boys

My daughter is spending a semester abroad in Florence, and my wife and I would like to take my 3 teen sons (18, 16, 13) to meet up with her over Holy Week 2019. We will likely have about 9 days in total, so I am encouraging my wife to pick two places. We are leaning towards starting in Rome and then meeting my daughter in the Amalfi coast area (where apparently the study-abroad students typically head during Easter break).

We will likely hit the Colloseum, climb St Peter's, and tour Pompeii and Capri, at a minimum. Any advice for other activities (minimal museums) that would hold a teen boy's interest in these areas? Any recommendations on areas to stay so that we aren't in transit the whole time? Alternative suggestions for itineraries?

Thanks!
Steve

Sorrento is a more central home base than any town further along the Amalfi coast, with direct connections by train to Pompeii and Naples, boat to Capri, and bus to Positano and Amalfi (each direction usually a destination for a different day). Additional boat routes may not run that early in the year, or at least are wind-and-weather-dependent.

Just a point that is a very busy week to be in Rome. I would book accommodations Earlier than later. My teens really enjoyed our Eatwith experience last week. We had a cooking class in a locals flat. It was just the four of us and was a really fun way to spend the evening. We did the event with Sandra at Eatwith.

We also stayed in Sorrento for two days and enjoyed it.

Enjoy your trip
