They were soliciting apartments to list from owners and I'd recieved a rather off-putting and rude email from them. Other owners I know have not listed with them either becasuse they were not happy with their custoer service....don't know how they are o the other side though. BTW, they are not really an "agency" they are just a "by owner" listing site like vrbo or homeaway, etc.

In April 2007 we booked our Venice apartment with Holiday-Velvet. We are from New Zealand and found their communication prior to travelling great.
Everything went smoothly and I would recommend them.
