HOHO Florence bus tour

In September my wife and I plan to conclude our Italy trip with two nights/days in Florence. Previously we had a tour from Livorno as part of a cruise, where we saw the Academia and walked around the Duomo square and Arno bridge.

Since we have more time one of the things we wanted to do was take the city hop-on hop-off bus tour. We usually use the Viator excursions and it looks like a nice HOHO bus tour. HOHOs are always a favorite for us.

I know the main sites in Florence are compact, but this tour hits a bunch including visiting Fiesole, the famous etruscan city lying on a hill just 3 kilometers away from Florence downtown.

Anyone have any thoughts on this city oversight HOHO tour? Thank you.

Hi. My mom and I took the Florence HOHO bus a few years ago. The bus was convenient for getting to Fiesole and Piazzale Michelangelo, and for seeing the Florence away from the historic center. You can also take city bus to Fisole and Piazzale Michelangelo. Be sure to walk into the town of Fiesole, not just where the bus drops you off. It's a beautiful town with a spectacular view of Florence. I wasn't as impressed with this HOHO as I've been in Rome, Paris or London. Probably because Florence isn't that large and you can see beautiful sights just walking around or from Piazzale Michelangelo. Be sure to go to the Mercato Centrale second floor to eat, the selection of food is incredible. Eataly also has good sandwiches and is a feast for the eyes. Buon Viaggio!
