So how does this work? Do I have to buy tickets first (in advance online, preferably) THEN secure one of the guides at the entrance? I assume you pay the guide in cash, yes? I understand that they gather up the interested parties, who split the total tour fee. Is that correct?
Also, can you get guides for the Villas?
Consider booking a guide ahead of time. We used Askos for private tours of Pompeii sites in 2022, but they also offer small-group tours. One advantage of using Askos is that the cost includes admission to the Archeological Park.
About "Villas" - are you referring to Oplontis and Stabiae? It is possible, but you may have to spring for a private guide.
