Hiring a Taxi?

We are staying in a small village outside of Chiusi, Monteleone. Plan is to fly into Rome, catch a quick regional train to the Chiusi Termini and then hire a taxi for the 15km trip to our hotel.

Problem is that there will not be many taxis where we are staying. What I have done in NYC and SF is ask for there number so they can pick us up when we want a return trip.

Any experience or tips? Is there a general number or place I can go to to hail a taxi?

It would be the same procedure in Italy.

But what are you doing staying 15 km from Chiusi without a rental car? Do you want to go nowhere else?

Thanks. No need to rent a car we are laying low and doing a few day trips with a hired car and guide

Unless you are camping in the woods, where ever you are staying will know how to arrange a taxi for you.
