A driver to do what? Drive you around Florence?

Echoing Sam's question here, Mike. More specifically, what do you want a driver for?
The historic center of Florence itself is reasonably compact and has quite a number of areas that are pedestrian-only. It's really a 'walking city' unless you have some mobility issues that limit your ability to do that? They also have a certain amount of public transit (buses/trams) that you may want to use for very specific bits of sightseeing.

That said, we stayed in Florence for nearly 5 days and didn't need anything but our feet the entire time. IMHO, that really is the best way to experience this interesting old city. :O)

Now, traveling to the countryside outside of Florence can be another kettle of fish; some visitors do use drivers for certain day-trip excursions.

Sorry, yes we are interested in a day trip excursion from Florence for 4 people. Possible locations are Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, and Montalcino.

In Italy, we used a company called "My Day Trip" to go from Rome to Orvieto with stops at Sacro Bosco and Civita di Banoregio. Our driver was excellent and prompt, and the car was clean and comfortable. This isn't a guided tour, but simply private transportation, if that's what you're looking for. https://mydaytrip.com/

We did a day trip with Francis from Chainti Pro Driver. Google for details. We had a great day travelling to monteriggioni, Siena and San Gimingano.

We loved it so much we booked a second tour of wineries which was brilliant as he organised everything.

Again he is a driver. Will drop you off at each location. However all 3 towns we visited were easy to navigate and see the things we needed

Cost was under 400 euro for the full 9-10hour day.

I will always recommend renting a car and driving away from Florence into Tuscany. We went from Siena up the SR222 through Greve and had some amazing views and random “food truck” amazing eats. I did sacrifice enjoying wine being the driver but that drive is very worth it.

We hired a driver through www.shoreexcursionsinitaly.net while we docked at Livorno port this year. The driver spoke good English and took us to a couple wineries in San Gimignnano area, great local places without crowds! You could combine Volterra stop not too far from there, cute medieval town where we purchased nice alabaster items. Great memories of Tuscany!

Marco Accattatis with Top Limo is awesome. We used him for several day trips from Florence, airport transport, and getting around when needed. He also gave transport for 12 to Cortona. On-time, courteous, great service, and so eager to help. +39 392 152 6368 or WhatsApp +1 917 929 7403. Highly recommend Marco and his staff. They made some awesome recommendations and we loved the new experiences.
