We will be traveling to Florence in September and have heard somewhere that it may be possible to hire a chef to cook one meal in our villa? Has anyone had this experience and if so could you suggest how to go about making an inquiry?

Our real estate agent arranged for a chef to come to our villa in Chianti to prepare a special dinner for our family. I would start the search with your local rental agent.
