Hilton Hotels in Florence

I am using points to stay at one of the Hilton properties in Florence but I am not sure which one would be best. We will not have transportation and will be using the train system and walking. Does anyone have experience with these - which do you recommend?

Hilton Garden Inn: Via Sandro Pertini, 2/9, FLORENCE, 50127, Italy . OR

HILTON FLORENCE METROPOLE
VIA DEL CAVALLACCIO, 36, FLORENCE, 50142, ITALY

hi
I have stayed at both. They are 20+ min by bus from city center and you must bus in. The Hilton Metropole has a nice pool/spa and executive lounge that was amazing! The Hilton Garden Inn is in a college area and I would not stay there. We used points when my husband and I stayed at both for a week in Florence in 2016. Personally I would stay in Metropole between the two.

Don’t have experience with either facility, but being from Florence I can tell you the two areas are two not so great choices. Both far from the historical city center and both in “working class” areas. Of course by American standards neither area is unsafe, no area in Florence is, but I would save those free nights for some other trip elsewhere and pay for a hotel in the historical center instead.

I agree that being in the historic center would be much better.

My husband is addicted to hotels that can be bought with points, but I would fight him almost to the death to stay in central Florence-there are plenty of reasonably priced and wonderfully located properties.

I'm in agreement with staying in the historic center....you will miss so much, especially the quiet times in the morning and late evenings when all the tour buses leave. We stay in a convent in Florence 3 blocks from the Duomo which is extremely reasonable and so convenient.
