Hiking the Amalfi Coast

Has anyone hiked the lower Valle Della Ferriere from Pontone to Amalfi? I and trying to decide whether to do this hike, or Path of the Gods. Thinking this hike may be better in terms of lesser crowds. I also am a little afraid of heights. The information regarding this trail is a little sparse online---so looking for any firsthand accounts. Thank you!

Valle Della Ferriere may be closed--I've seen reports of landslide. Keep digging online, I would be very surprised if you could not find a fairly decent description! I've done too many coastal paths to remember much of anything distinguishing this one though. Its main appeal is the shade. I don't recall any steep drop-offs or anything to be overly concerned about.

We did the hike from Ravello down to Amalfi-took the bus up, and found that the Tourist Office had a free, highly detailed map of all the trails. We were the only ones on the trail, however, plenty of detours from slides along the way. Not sure if the area office would have a map on-line with the latest conditions.

This from the alltrails.com. From may 2022.

The cool, big waterfall at the end of the trail is unfortunately CLOSED until November 2022. But it’s still a great trail, with fine views, nice ruins, small waterfalls, and kind of rain-foresty feel. If you are looking for spectacular views of the coast, you would do better to hike up to Pogerola and into the mountains.
