hiking out of Val Gardena

Hi-
Does anyone have suggested U.S. sources/recommendations for hiking maps in the Italian Alps, starting out from Val Gardena? I'd like to do some advance thinking about hiking options for folks with different fitness levels. Thanks!

We found the TABACCO 1:25,000 for the Val Gardena most helpful in planning hikes.

I will have to dig out my map file to see what I have. That may take awhile as we are renovating that room and everything is in disarray!

In the meantime I suggest you consider getting a good guidebook.

This one, focusing on “easy” walks, is by a RS forum member:

https://www.amazon.com/Walking-Italys-Val-Gardena-Dolomites/dp/B09SNY2FGM/ref=sr_1_1?crid=320IX37R5K9V5&keywords=Laurel+Barton+Dolomites+hikes&qid=1651264395&s=books&sprefix=laurel+barton+dolomites+hike%2Cstripbooks%2C182&sr=1-1

Some of the shorter ones could be extended by members of your group who want a longer hike.

This book covers a range of levels, easy to strenuous, and more of the Dolomites than just Val Gardena:

https://www.amazon.com/Shorter-Walks-Dolomites-Cicerone-Guide/dp/1852847875/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3ELC40UG0IW1P&keywords=Hiking+dolomites&qid=1651264443&s=books&sprefix=hiking+dolomites%2Cstripbooks%2C119&sr=1-3

Note that by “shorter” walks, they mean dayhikes rather than multi-day treks.

Laurel (mentioned by Lola) recommended Kompass map 076 which I bought and liked.
