Hiking in The Cinqueterra

Can anyone direct me to the most up to date information on which hiking trails will be open in July. We are not looking to hike the most challenging trails. The Via della Amore sounds more like our speed.

Hello Bradley,

This local blogger/tour guide is awesome. Amy has lived there over 17 years. She helped me plan a great visit to Cinque Terre. Check it out: https://cinqueterreinsider.com/
She is still recovering from the Pandemic but if you contact her via Facebook/email I believe she can help.

Bradley, this is the official website for the park (be patient with it; is sluggish to respond):

This will be your most useful page:
The map shows path info, including which are open at any given point:

Trail difficulties range from easiest (blue) to orange (skilled) with green in between. Trails marked in black are currently closed but status of open trails could change at any time due to weather events, rockslides, overuse, etc. Click on any of them to see their full description (length, avg. hiking time, terrain, etc.)

According to local experts Mike and Martha, Via dell'Amore (592-1 section of the SVA2, Riomaggiore to Manarola) is unfortunately not expected to open until 2023/24. Once you get to the CT, you'll understand why it's so difficult to make big trail repairs!

A terrific website for the CT region:

if you haven't seen it already, check out Rick's travel talk video about the CT. Not the TV episode, the travel talk.

Bradley,

It's hard to know what the situation will be like in July with the Cinque Terre trails, as Italy isn't really open to tourism yet. I haven't seen any recent information on whether any of the trails require repairs after winter. As mentioned in previous replies, the section from Riomaggiore to Manarola will still be closed, except for the short section from Manarola to the small bar. The section from Manarola to Corniglia will also likely be closed this year, as it's been blocked by a large slide for several years.

If you're an avid hiker, there are a lot of other trails in that area besides the "Blue Path", so you can do as much hiking as you're able to.
