My family (myself, my husband, and our children ages 15 and 18) will be in the Dolomites for three days in late June of this year. We will hike for three days, spending two nights at refugees, then on the third day take the Seceda lift back to Ortisei. We are trying to figure out a route that would allow us to hike in this general area, beginning and ending at the Seceda Lift, and would potentially include Rifugio Genova as one of the rifugios. We currently have reservations for Refugio Genova for our second night, but are trying to find a route for our first day of hiking that would take us to a rifugio at a half-way point between the Seceda lift and Rifugio Genova. Can anyone advise us as to a route for our first day, as well as a possible rifugio for our fist night, which would allow us to then travel to Rifugio Genova for our second night? Of if there is not such a route, is there some other 2-night, 3-day route you can recommend in this general area of Seceda?
Thanks!
I would email the very helpful tourist information people at ValGardena.com and ValGardena.net and post this question to them.
Thanks, Janet! I will do that!
We found the TABACCO 1:25,000 for the Val Gardena most helpful in planning hikes. (It is #05). The map shows the lifts, rifuggios and trails in very good detail.
Thank you so much, Kathleen!
Take care,
Chris
