Hiking from Ravello - Path of the Gods?

We will be spending 3 nights in Ravello in late April and have been there once before. We are planning to enjoy the two gardens and probably a boat excursion to Positano. But we’ve been hearing a lot about hiking Path of the Gods. However, it looks like we would need to take a taxi to the trailhead. Is it worth it?

Are there other hiking opportunities directly from Ravello that would be nice instead? We are in late 60’s so I’m not interested in hiking down and back up to Amalfi town.

Thoughts?

You can take the bus from Amalfi to Bomerano where you can start The Path of the Gods ending in Positano. Then take the bus from there back to Amalfi and then switch buses to return to Ravello.

I do not think Path of the Gods is worth it, generally. It’s not the easiest of hikes for one. It was definitely more demanding than I expected, though I was prepared. Getting to Bomerano and, more importantly, getting back from Nocelle where the trail ends can take some doing. The views are not all that dissimilar than those from Ravello, really.

I like the sound of the “Path of lemons,” but with so little time I would use the ferry/bus to get around and save your feet for exploring when you get there.

I did the hike with my daughter and son-in law in 2017 and absolutely loved it. I was 63 but in great shape---it was easy. You do need to be careful---my daughter slipped on some stones and hit her bottom as well as another in our group. I would do it again just because the views are so gorgeous. But, only with a guide. It is remote so if you get injured you are in the middle of nowhere.

As far as getting back to Ravello---a taxi? By the way--we spent our honeymoon in Ravello---a wonderful little town.

We used Zia Lucy---she's great!

Great feedback. Thanks! Yes I’m a bit concerned with only three nights, we just enjoy the views from Ravello and skip a hike. Thanks everyone.
