Hiking Alpine Foothills Lake Como

Curious if anyone who’s taken the My Way Italy tour has been able to hike the Alpine Foothills while in Lake Como. What’s involved in this? Meaning, must you travel far to get to the Foothills? Does it eat up the entire day?
Thanks.

Are you familiar with the All Trails website/app? It shows hikes around Lake Como. I haven't been on the My Way tour and I don't know where on Lake Como you will be staying. I have hiked out of Bellagio, Varenna and Cernobbio. To get up into the hills and back from those towns takes all day. With some planning you may be able to make arrangements to be dropped off at a trail head and then hike back to where you're staying.

You will need a rental car to access the trails near Lake Como, for the most part. The Greenway Trail (non-Alpine) on the western side of the lake gives you wonderful views of the lake.
