Hike up from Almafi to Atrani to Ravello

My husband and I are travelling for 2 weeks in Italy with 3 nights in Positano. I am getting a Guide Book on hikes mentioned in RS Italy book but he seems to scare us about a Hike UP to Ravello. I also recognize the hike down is also difficult. Is it a different view/hike going up? Worthwhile (for 'reasonably' fit 50+yo adults)? Better hikes? Hikes in Positano?
Thanks.

You may find this site: https://www.sorrentoamalfiwalkwithus.com/ interesting. I came upon this site when I was researching for our trip this past May. The timing didn't work out for us to take a hike so I can't speak to this company but the site has some nice pictures and useful information about hiking in the area.

We did the hike down from Ravello to Amalfi 5-6 years ago.
Best to stop at the Tourist office in Ravello to make sure there's no surprises or construction due to rain and so forth. The views were terrific.

We have done this hike many, many times and we actually appreciate the work out after all of that wine and pasta. :-) It is a bit challenging because it is all stairs and they are not even. It’s an ancient path, but the part right at Atrani has new stairs. It will take you about an hour to go all the way up to Ravello.

You could take Ferry to Amalfi to do the hike. We were staying in Amalfi and took very crowded bus to Ravello. We hiked down to avoid the bus. But it was delightful--through farm land. We did n't know where to go when we came into Atrani and asked someone who sent us through the outdoor area of a restaurant where we met up with a tunnel that took us into Amalfi! It really is a lovely hike. It would be uphill but it isn't like it is all stairs (although there are a lot of them).

So if you were to start the hike in Amalfi, you would want to find the tunnel and you will come out in Atrani.

last year, while staying in amalfi, we caught the bus up to ravello and walked down, via the stairs.( good option) I don't see any value walking up as you would be facing away from the coast. if you take the stairs back down be prepared for many stairs, but the views are great. we ended up back in atrani ( nice) then short walk around to amalfi.
pick a nice day and go early. the bus leaves down at the port area, buy your tickets at the tobacco shop across the road, in amalfi.

we did another walk from the town up to the old paper mill and beyond. it was a nice walk along the river for something different. the paper mill was interesting. just walk straight up through the town away from the water and keep walking up the valley.
we would have like to do the path of the gods etc, but getting around on the coast can be difficult with local buses being packed with tourists.
with only 3 nights you may find there are enough stairs and small walks around positano. when we have been there on day trips we just toured around the town, plenty to explore.
hope this helps.
