Highly Recommend- Day Trips from Sorrento

Hi all,

I just got back from 4 nights in Sorrento and wanted to share my love for the Mondo Tours that Rick Steves is a part of.

The company is responsive, helpful and professional. I did the day trip to Capri and REALLY loved it. I saw the ferry and very pleased I chose this option. The guides were really fun and I got to know other travelers on the tour (there were about 10 of us). Cocktails and delicious sandwiches were provided. We were lucky the weather cooperated and we were able to do the Blue Grotto if you pleased. I only wish we had a little more time on the island but know you can't do it all. It was about an 8 hour total adventure and a highlight of my trip.

I also did the Amalfi Tour and absolutely loved that too. Again our guide was really fantastic and we got to spend time in Ravello, Positano and Amalfi.

Highly recommend!

a highlight of my trip.

We did the Capri tour with Mondo Guides in 2019 and it was the highlight of our trip as well. Had an absolute blast!

On the other hand, we did not have a good Mondo guide for Pompeii. We wrote them and they were horrified and apologetic; we were just unlucky.
But Pompeii was a highlight for us( once the guide left) and we spent several more hours there. Easy to get to and from Sorrento by commuter train as there is a train station right at Pompeii.
We spent three nights on Capri so didn’t do it as a day trip. I really can’t imagine traveling there for just for a day.
We did a day trip to the Amalfi Coast by bus from Sorrento. Took another bus up to Ravello which was our favorite spot. Also spent time in Amalfi and Positano. Returned to Sorrento by ferry from Positano. All very easy to do.
