High Speed train from rome to naples

Hi, is the "Termini" the best train station to catch the high speed train from Rome to Naples please?

It depends on where you're staying in the city but it's the most conveniently located to central Rome so I'd say yes. Also, If you're taking the Leonardo Express in from Fiumicino airport, this is the station you'll arrive at.

Termini offers more frequent trains than Tiburtina and the trip saves about thirty minutes travel time. I'd base the choice on ease of getting from my lodgings to either station.

Check out this free app "Rail Planner." We used it while in Italy for a month and all of our travel was by train. It is also possible to use even if you are not on wifi.

I have travelled from ROME..the city not the airport...to Naples by Rome Termini to Naples Centrale Station in 1.5 hours...make sure that you do not get on the milk run 3 hour train...

karen,

IMO, Roma Termini is probably the best station to use, as there will be more frequent departures to Napoli Centrale. I haven't checked the schedules, but Termini may also provide a choice between Trenitalia and the competing Italo Treno high speed trains. Use whichever one fits best with your schedule and budget.

Just to explain my mention of the Express to Termini as it might otherwise not look to be relevant? The OP is flying into Rome and only staying one night/one partial day before taking the train onward to Naples the next morning. IMHO, Termini would be the most convenient for both getting and out of central Rome efficiently plus the fact that there are more trains from that one.

I was thinking another plus would be staying nearby: drop the bags and hit the ground running for the few sightseeing hours available.

Roma termini will probably be the easiest for you to use. I would check both trenitalia and Italotreno for prices and schedules and use which ever station offers the best choice. If it's Tiburtina it won't take long to get there.
