We are traveling to the Lake Como area, Cinque Terre, and Verona in June. We will be driving between locations. Are there any wonderful hidden gems to see as we drive between locations that we should add to our itinerary? Are there any antique or local markets along these drives? Thanks!

En route to or from Verona, roughly between Mantova and Parma, you'll find the wonderfully preserved fortified town of Sabbioneta. This website gives you some pictures.

Definitely Bergamo. Go to Citta' Alta. I lived in Bergamo for a time and have returned twice and in April will be back for a third time. I think Citta' Alta is a bit like visiting the hill towns in Tuscany. Great day trip.
