Hello All
Does anyone know why Hertz pulled out of Lucca as a location? I was attempting to rent a van (for 6 adults) from Orvieto train station for a few days and ending in Lucca (outside the walls). Since it doesn't appear online as available, I called and they said the office is closed, even though a friend who lives there said it is still opened. Thank you
Assuming Hertz closed the Lucca location, you can always rent from Avis or Europcar, instead of Hertz.
Or you could return the car in Pisa (or Florence), instead of Lucca, and proceed by train.
Thank you Roberto, you are always so helpful!
We rented a car from Hertz at the Lucca office a few years ago (2010). The Hertz website no longer lists a Lucca office. We returned our car at the Pisa airport location, which was easy to reach, and has a train connection to Pisa Centrale and other locations. This might work as a return location for you.
