Hertz locations in Rome for Car Rental Return

Hello, My family and I will be traveling to Italy in August. We will be arriving in Rome in a Hertz rental car and want to return it right away. Any advise on which Hertz location in Rome will be the easiest to return the car with minimal drama of city driving while also balancing minimal drama of then getting us and our luggage to our hotel (in the Piazza Navona neightborhood)? Any tips of getting from the rental car return to the city center with our stuff?

Thanks for your help!

I would look at the Hertz website to see where their offices are and choose the one most convenient to where I was coming from and is reachable with the minimum amount of travel in Rome and has transportation options to my lodging.

Yes, the Hertz website has a location finder. We drove out of Rome but driving into a city is more difficult. You could drop it off at either airport, FCO or CIA, and take a taxi to your hotel. CIAMPINO,CIA, would be easier and closer to the city. A bus goes downtown from CIA.

I picked up my Hertz car last summer at the Tiburtina station office, which is about two blocks from the station. It was an easy drive to the autostrada.

I got from my hotel at Campo di Fiore to the Hertz office by bus; you could get to the Piazza Navona area the same way, but the path of least resistance would be to ask Hertz call a cab for you. It wouldn't be a cheap cab ride but it might be worth it since you'd just be getting oriented to Rome. In my case, I was leaving Rome after five nights there so I was fairly comfortable with the bus system by that time.

Hi
I used the location across from Termini Station. It was a Sunday so the office was closed . I just drove up to the Hertz level and put the Keys in the secured drop box. First you need to stop at the parking office on the street level . They will allow you entry once you get to the Hertz level. You can take a taxi to your hotel.
Driving in Rome is worse than LA or New York. Have a great time
