Hertz hire and 'Verbale Fine on line'?

We visited Lake Como earlier in the year, and weeks later received a 'fine' invoice (for admin) letter from the Hertz office in Rome.
They say we made a traffic offence called 'Verbale Fine on line'? I don't whats this is for, and the contact website link is in Italian.
www.hertz.it/fines
Could anyone advise, as we have no idea what we have done..

It means that you will find the fine, and it's explanation, online. "Verbale" is the reason for the fine, date, place etc.

You have to click in the link in "multe" and fill in the information requested for more information.

It means that you got a traffic violation while driving in Italy. Most likely you were caught by a camera speeding, or going through a red light, or entering a ZTL, or driving on a bus only lane.

Hertz, as the owner of the vehicle, received notification of the fine. The rental car companies have 90 days to communicate to the authorities who was driving the vehicle at the time of the traffic violation. Hertz is charging you an administrative fee for handling the paperwork related to that communication to the authorities. After the authorities receive the driver's info (your info) from Hertz, they will be sending the fine for payment to you directly. The entire process can take a few months. When you receive the fine from the issuing authorities there will be instructions on how to pay the fine, if you like to clear your name and settle the matter. If you choose not to pay, I'm not entirely clear about the consequences since those are not likely enforceable in a foreign court outside the EU, or even just outside of Italy. Some Italian authorities have engaged international debt collection agencies to collect those fines. But I'm not sure if there are consequences if you don't pay the collection agency either. They might report you to one of the credit bureaux, but that possibility has not been confirmed by anybody I know.
