Heraculaneum isn’t open on Wednesday today April 20

I was planning on visiting Heraculaneum today but it was closed. There is a sign that says the Archaeological Park will not be open on Wednesdays. So check the website carefully as time unfolds because I thought I had researched this and believed the site to be open all days. Luckily for me, I should be able to fit it in after visiting Pompeii tomorrow although that’s a lot of Roman ruins for one day.

I think that is a fairly recent change. I believe I checked the schedule within the last two or three months, and I have "daily" in my notes.

I suspect it’s a recent change too—I was using Rick Steves Naples and the Amalfi Coast, the newest edition plus The Lonely Planet and RS’s guide definitely says open every day. I guess the moral of the story is to check websites themselves. I guess that’s an ad a rage to buying a ticket in advance too—then you know for sure.

Me three also thinks it's probably a recent change.. Could be a staffing issue?
