Help with Venice, Tuscany and Rome Itinerary

Hello,
Thank you all so much for your help in my recent posts for planning our trip in May 2023. We decided on Italy instead of trying to do both Italy and France in 14 nights.
We are leaving May 19 for 15 nights, not including travel days to and from. Flights aren't booked yet.
I would like to fly into Venice and out of Rome since that makes the most sense.

Here are my thoughts..
May 19: Fly to Venice
May 20-22: Venice 3 nights
May 23-29: Somewhere in Tuscany and have no idea, but reading a lot on this Forum of great places (8 nights)
May 29-Jun 3: Rome (4 nights)
Jun 4: Fly home from Rome
I'm not sure about the travel portion. Train, car etc... We would like to have a car in Tuscany to drive to the towns and markets, but since we haven't been in that region, not sure which is most efficiient?

If you are going to spend 8 nights in the Tuscanty region, I'd split it into 2 locations since Tuscany covers such a large area. If you plan to see sites in Florence, then that would be a good spot for part of it, since it has good rail and train connections to nearby places like Pisa, Lucca or Siena. Venice to Florence and Florence to Rome are very easily done by train, and you would not want a car in any of those places. You could spend the rest of your Tuscany time in one of the other towns you want to visit, picking up and dropping off your car just for this portion of your trip.
