Help with trains and the train station

Hi, thanks in advance for your help! If I were to plan on catching a 7:25 AM Eurostar from Termini Rome to the Central Naples station, how early would I need to be there in order to purchase the ticket (before it sold out), and finding the correct track? Should you allow a 1/2 hr before? Also, is the luggage storage in both Termini and the Central Station in Naples easy to find and secure?

Dunno when you will be in Rome but a good idea is to buy the previous day. There is little likelihood that train will be sold out, tho sometimes 2d class does and you must buy 1st class tix. The track, in Italian, is "binario" ( bee-NAH-ree-oh). If there is a line, try buying at tix machines. There is usually an English option and you are walked thru the procedure.

Justin - note thatthe "Check things in" is a security check. You are still responsible for your luggage onto, on and off the train. It is not like an airplane.

As you're not familiar with Termini, I'd give myself about 30 minutes as suggested. The Eurostar trains "usually" leave from the lower-numbered platforms (1-14) so that would be the LEFT side of the station as you face the tracks. These links can show you pictures of the station, how to buy tickets at the kiosks, and a picture of the luggage storage area. Sometimes there is a LONG line as these luggage storage areas, so plan accordingly - or pick up your luggage BEFORE buying a ticket! If you are storing or picking up luggage from the termini storage area I would give myself at least an hour. The line can be very long at times. If you are not checking or picking up luggage then a half hour is fine. Use the ticket machines to get tickets. The line at the counter can also be very long. You can buy your ticket the day of travel or any time before that. You can buy them at the station or any travel agency that displays the trenitalia logo, there should be no additional charge for this service. If you see one while wandering Rome just stop in to get your tickets. Donna

If you buy your ticket the day before, make sure it is valid for travel on the next day, not the day of purchase.
