Any help would be appreciated:
I need a train trip from Firenze to Monterosso on Monday, June 26.
I know I will need to switch trains at La Spezia, but both popular train sites show no travel solutions. I must be missing something?
Thank you in advance!
Jenny
Jenny, Don't panic.
The timetables change on ~10th June, and Italian railways are always late releasing the new times.
I don't know who you mean by "both popular train sites", but trenitalia is the one you want. Just look up times for the end of May to get an idea of what is available. Times will be similar and prices the same. Then keep checking back until they release the times for >10th June.
With checking directly, I am assuming these could be Regionale trains and they are the last schedules to load. You will be fine.
Thank you, Chris.
A momentary lapse into panic. I should know better; I've done this before. I just forgot about the timetables.
Whew.
Jenny
Also: we've had great experience with the https://www.trainline.eu website. Info schedules good purchasing options and then tickets sent to our phone.
Captain Train is now trainline:
I just tried to see the Captain Train and used the trainline.eu by randomly selecting some smaller stations. It did not work. IMHO Deutsche Bahn is the best for train schedule around all Europe. To buy tickets from DB website the train must originate, end or go through Germany. So schedule I find on DB and to buy I wait until I get to the country. Only if it's significantly cheaper and I know for sure my departure date I buy ahead on the national rail website. (like trenitalia, OeBB, cd.cz etc.)
