We are planning to go to Sicily in June and need a safe,cheap place to stay in Palermo. Under 50 Euros. Any suggestions?

It is not possible to find a hotel in Palermo with private bath for 50 Euros. There are rooms at this price, but with shared baths. The Albergo Verdi, across the street from the Teatro Massimo Opera House, is in an excellent neighborhood for tourists, and is at the low end of the price range.
Also see the www.ambasciatorihotelpalermo.it, which has furnished rooms with bath for 60 Euros per night, excluding breakfast, but with access to the hotel facilities, including the panoramic rooftop terrace.

A few years ago I stayed at Giorgio's B&B in Palermo. Giorgio was a wonderful host; his B&B rates seem very low. The B&B is an apartment walking distance from the Norman castle (palace?) and downtown areas of Palermo. He has a website.
