We have booked an all day Parma factories, tastings & lunch tour of Parma for July 31, 2019. We are staying in Bologna and the Parma tour was going to be a day trip. The tour starts at 9:15am from the centre of Parma. I thought it was going to be easy to take an early train from Bologna to meet our tour in Parma at 9:15am. However, checking online I can only find a train that leaves too early---around 4:15am and then nothing until 9:46am which is too late. Am I missing something or is it simply not feasible as a day trip from Bologna? Thanks in advance.

Mark, I think your problem is checking schedules for July 31st. There will be a system update for schedules/prices around June 8th so many trains are not showing yet after that date. If you choose trains from Bologna Centrale to Parma on a Wed. prior to June 8th - schedules/prices rarely change by much if at all - you'll see that there are quite a number of them between 4:15 and 9:46: 14 or 15 of them, to be exact.
